Value Management: How It Works
All Value Management applications are assembled from four elements, all of which are informed by the key concepts of being complexity-aware, value-led and people-centred.
The first and foundational element is the Things That Matter:
- The Things That Matter are what constitute value to the people involved as they navigate complex situations and challenges.
- They capture what is typically ignored or impossible to address with conventional approaches.
The second element is Value Coding, which further develops the Things That Matter:
- Value Coding is where the Things That Matter are re-expressed to make them measurable and manageable as Value Codes.
- Value Codes are owned by the people involved, further grounding value in ways that make the subjective aspects of complexity objective.
The third element is ARC Diagnostics, our diagnostic assessment framework:
- This is where and how Value Codes are assembled into online diagnostics and delivered securely at limitless scale.
- Diagnostics engage people at scale, catalysing creative thought and inputs on how to realise value, encouraging discernment on how to navigate complexity.
The fourth and final element is Value Modes:
- These are the different ways in which ARC Diagnostics can be deployed according to the purpose, context and lifecycle stage of what is in diagnostic focus.
- Value Modes give shape to complexity, focusing attention and activity for the people involved in value-appropriate ways.
